We are a group of enthusiastic bloggers who are trying to gain more experience. Our articles started out on focusing on STEM and politics topics (for those of you who have been reading since the beginning), but we have now expanded to other random topics, hence the name.
The daily fact for August 3, 2017 was "Winnie the Pooh is banned in China, it is censored by the government." This is actually because China believes that Winnie the Pooh looks too much like president Xi JinPing, according to BBC news.
I have to admit. Winnie the Pooh kind of looks like president Xi Jinping.
China is not the only place that has banned Winnie the Pooh. Polish officials have blocked a school from
using Winnie the Pooh as its mascot. One counselor stated: "The problem with that bear is it doesn't have
a complete wardrobe. It is half naked which is wholly inappropriate for children!"
Well, all in all, I guess a formerly friendly children's character has turned into a whole new riot.
First of all, this post was inspired by ViHart, if you don't know who she is, she's got some pretty interesting mathematical videos on youtube, so check that out. Ok. Go back to when you were in elementary school and you had to memorize all these equations with pi, and you sort of got it, but you didn't really understand. Well, that's not your problem. It's not the teacher's problem either. It's pi's problem. The problem with pi and pi day is just like the problem with Christopher Columbus and Columbus Day. Sure, he was a real man that did some stuff, but he DIDN'T discover America, he DIDN'T discover that the world was round, and, let's face it, he was kind of a bad person. Radians are a very convenient way of measuring angles. Two pi radians in a circle, pi radians a half circle. Now say I'm baking I pie, and I invite my friends over to have some. "How much pi do you want?" Your friend wants a tenth of the p...
It's been such a long time since we've posted, I know. Many of our authors have no longer been available, and because of this, added to the fact that we want to continue to bring you amazing content, something's going to change here. A new background, new authors, and new content will hopefully make this blog more active again. Thanks for all the readers who have stuck by us even as we have been inactive for so long. We will post more often now. The title of this blog is also going to need a revamp... comment down below. ;) -RNG
Sorry if you guys notice the posts aren't coming as regularly as they used to -- we, the admins, are, and will be, working on a long-term project for quite some time. However, I promise you that this time lost will be well worth the wait when it comes out! Sorry for the inconvenience! A note: the authors will still contribute regularly (not to say that the admins won't -- they'll just post a little less often.) We have a lot of authors, and they will entertain you with rich and engaging content! :) ~Michael
