Presidents Post Series

All right, we are going to be starting a presidents post series to write a short biography of all the 45 presidents to you. (we as in Lucas and I) We hope to finish this long-term project by September of 2018. The 1st post will be published by November 9th, about George Washington. Overtime, all the presidential articles will be posted to the top. So make sure to check back often! Thanks, and enjoy! EDIT: Please allow a 3-day delay for the deadline of the first post, due to unexpected circumstances. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Neat math tips and tricks part 2

This is a continuation of my previous math tips and tricks #1 and will be centered more on estimations, approximations, and other useful conversions. Approximation Methods  - 2^10 ~ (is approximately equal to) 1,000 (One thousand)  - 2^20 ~ 1,000,000 (One million)  - 2^30 ~ 1,000,000,000 (One Billion)  - 2^40 ~ 1,000,000,000,000 (One trillion)  - 2^50 ~ 1,000,000,000,000,000 (One quadrillion) You can probably see where this is going... For each power of 2 raised by 10, just add three zeros at the end of the number. If you ever come across measurements in powers of 2, which is unlikely but not unheard of, use these approximations to find out just how big something might be. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Converting your salary to an hourly basis (From yearly) This is a neat trick that can help you find out how much you're really earning. Whether you are pleasa...

Antimatter Part 1 (WHY WE SHOULDN'T EXIST AND WHY BANANAS ARE RADIOACTIVE)

What is the most expensive thing that exists? Gold? Sure, it's expensive, priced at a pricey $41/gram, but that's nothing compared to other things like heroin. Heroin is a very expensive drug priced at around $200/gram. Diamond, though, is nearly $50,000/gram for pure diamond. Still though, 1 kilo gram of pure diamond would still not even compare to the world's most expensive object.        The world's most expensive object is... ANTIMATTER!!! Now, you may be wondering, what the heck is this guy talking about? What's antimatter ? The enemy of matter ? Well, that's actually partially correct.        So basically, antimatter and matter are the exact opposite, because the sub-atomic particles will react. If antimatter has contact with any matter, it will instantly annihilate itself, releasing 100% pure energy. Compare that to the world's strongest nuclear weapons right now, only releasing 8-10% pure energy. If one gram of ant...

Our 1/2 - year Anniversary!

Image
As our half year anniversary comes near (in about 2 weeks), we will be working to improve this website. This includes: more interesting content, less ads better website formatting more posts being published daily fact actually being updated (yeah, sorry about that... :) ) using original content, and if we use part of another article, we will include a citation more features We expect that these updates will be finished somewhere around November 5th. The website may or may not be available during part of these four weeks.  Keep tuned for updates on how our website will improve as it undergoes its anniversary! Happy 1/2 Birthday, STEMandPolitics!

The Future (Part I)

We are going to be talking about the future, split into three main topics. Number one, how to travel into the future, and what that would result in, number two, what will likely happen in the future, and number three, how humanity will likely end in the future. These three topics will be split into 3-5 posts, depending on how much I write. I. How to Travel into the Future Well, I hope I didn't get your hopes up (no pun intended) but I'm sorry, it's not currently possible at the moment. But then again, this whole post is hypothetical, so we get to make a rocket that has infinite fuel canisters and can travel at 300 million meters per second, while still keeping all the human bodies in it intact, and making sure that a huge vaccum doesn't form and suck up everyone. We would also need a telescope that sees infinitely long in any direction, but since all the laws of physics are already broken, who cares?! (In case you're wondering, yes, that is the short ans...

Notice

You might realize that we have not been posting very much throughout the summer. We are very sorry for this, though we were very busy too. Now that the school/work year is starting again, we will start to post much more often.  -Thanks for your understanding
